Parent/Carer Involvement
We actively seek to build a close relationship between home and school and to involve you in the life of the school and your child's learning. We encourage you to become involved from the start of your child's time at JEA. There are many ways you can support what we do. We will let you know what is going on in the classroom by informing you of the topics which we will be teaching.
Stay up to date
For the latest news you can download our App by searching 'James Elliman Academy' in the Apple or Google Play Store of following the information on our home page.
Talk to us
Staff are always in the playground at the start and end of the day and this gives you the opportunity to talk to your child's teachers about any concerns that may arise.
Parents/Carers afternoons and evenings
A formal parents' afternoon/evening every term provides the opportunity to discuss your child's progress.
Helping in class
We always welcome any offers of assistance in the classroom. Parents and carers can help in many ways from reading with children to helping on visits. Please let Ms Morgan or Mrs Sohal at the main reception know if you are interested. Safeguarding procedures including an enhanced DBS check and references will be required before you can start.
Parent views
We regularly seek parents' views through our surveys but we are always happy to listen to what you have to say and you can do this by emailing us or coming into school.
