Welcome to Nursery Class!

Welcome to James Elliman Nursery.   Children can start at the nursery in the first term after they turn 3 years old and we have an intake in September, January and April.   We have a morning and afternoon session. 

We provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment for your child, whilst understanding that they may find it difficult to separate from their parents at such an early age.  We work in partnership with parents and encourage you to support your child at home in order for your child to reach their full potential. 

We are a multi skilled team consisting of a teacher, early years practitioners and teaching assistants.  Everyone in the team plays a crucial role in your child’s learning.  We offer a play based curriculum whereby we follow the 7 areas of the EYFS framework.  These areas are covered by the daily activities that children take part in and children’s interests are also taken into account when planning topics.  Staff observe and assess the children during play based activities and they use this information to plan next steps in learning. 

Throughout the course of the year, we have stay and play sessions where parents will be welcome to join their children, for example, to celebrate Christmas, Eid, Diwali and end of term celebrations.
